Foil Highlights – Free Hand
Freehand highlights are painted onto the surface of the hair without using foils. This technique creates a soft, natural sun-kissed look with gentle lightening.
• Lifts the hair about 3–4 levels only
• Perfect for subtle brightness and natural dimension
• Creates a blended, low-maintenance effect
• Best for clients who want a soft glow rather than dramatic contrast
Foil Highlights – Half Head
• Foils are applied on the crown, top layers and sides of the hair
• Adds brightness around the face and on top, where the light naturally hits
• Leaves the hair underneath darker for natural depth and contrast
• Perfect for clients who want visible lightness but not a full transformation
Foil Highlights – Full Head
• Foils are applied throughout the entire head, from top layers to underneath
• Creates an overall lighter, more uniform look
• Ideal for clients who want a significant change or a bright blonde effect
Balayage
Balayage is a hand-painted highlighting technique (done without foils).
• Creates a blended, lived-in, sun-kissed look
• Usually starts mid-length and becomes lighter towards the ends
• More low-maintenance, as the natural root is kept darker
• Great for clients who want a soft and natural effect rather than strong contrast
